HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY ETHAN!

For some reason, this blog hates me right now!  Anyway, here are a few pictures from Ethan's birthday party this weekend!  I can't believe that he turns 2 tomorrow!  He has grown up so fast!  He is so fun, sweet, and full of life (not to mention difficult at times too : )!  This party I let my creative juices flow (I don't have many, but they all came out when we decided on a "Snowman Party".  I will try to post more pics after this.  I can't even explain each picture, but basically we had fake snow everywhere we could (on our door to the back, in the playroom so the kids could play in it, on the tables, etc).  We named all of the food something to do with a snowman:  pretzels (snowman arms), marshmallows (snowballs), carrots/candy corn (snowman noses), reeses on top of cookies (snowman hats), snowman faces (white donuts with candy corn noses and semi sweet morsals for the eyes and mouth), hershey's kisses (snowman kisses), white chocolate covered cookies decorated like snowman faces (snowman cookies).  Our party favor was "Snowman Soup" and the poem in the frame to go along with it (I re-wrote the poem : ), I covered our chairs in white fabric and cute out felt to look like a snowman and then tied a scarf around it.  We served all the other snacks out of snowman tins!  WE WENT SNOWMAN CRAZY AROUND HERE!  It was lots of fun and Ethan LOVED IT!

After Christmas Pics

We went to the beach for a few days after Christmas.....

The weather was beautiful and I don't care what anyone says, I can celebrate Christmas at 60-70 degrees, no problem.   I don't like the cold weather at all, unless I am inside : )

Build A Bear

The week before Christmas we took the boys to Build A Bear.  This is something that I always have to say "no" to each trip to the mall so it was fun to finally say "yes" and as a family go and build bears.  Preston has done this before,but it has been a while and this was Ethan's first time.  They both chose to build dogs, Preston named his ASTRO and Ethan named it DAT (the first thing he said when I asked him what he wanted to name it).  Tim and I also recorded "Hey Preston/Ethan, Daddy loves you, Mommy loves you", so when they press the foot, they hear our voices.  It's really neat.  Next year, I think I want them to record their voices, so we don't forget the sweetness in their voices before they grow into teenagers and adults!  I know how time flies!

Sorry, I don't know what happened to the video and why it won't play.  Anyway, you would have enjoyed it!  It was Ethan riding in the bjorn wtih a helmet on, while I was driving him on the scooter!  He loves it!

MODERN FAMILY

So, I have never seen a episode, but one of my best friends here in Fayetteville thought this was hilarious and said it looked like something that would be on Modern Family.  Preston got this electric scooter for his birthday and Ethan and I like to have a little fun too!  Enjoy our ride : )

Happy Thanksgiving

I am so thankful for my beautiful family!  I have such a wonderful husband!  He works full time, goes to school full time and still finds time to spend with a needy wife and kids : ).

 I love this little boy!  He is so full of life!  He is such a mama's boy and wants to live on my left hip, but I know that soon enough he will grow up and be too big, so I am embracing this time with him!

 And this guy, well let me tell you that he is such an amazing little boy, growing up so fast!  He is so smart and so loveable!  I am so proud of the little man he is becoming. 

I love my boys!

Long Overdue : )

It has been like 4 months since I posted any pictures because for some reason my blog wouldn't cooperate with me, but today it decided to allow me to download a pic.  There are many more and I will try to post more later, but here is one of the boys.....

Don't take the girl!

Everyone must remember that song by Tim McGraw sometime back..... I remember when I was younger I loved that song, never really taking the words with a whole lot of meaning back then.  Well, we had our first "Don't take the girl" moment the other night.  We were taking Preston to the pool in our neighborhood to meet our neighbor, Corey.  If you haven't heard Preston talk about Corey, chances are sometime you will.  Corey is Preston's "best friend" and lives across the street.  Everyday Preston lives to play with Corey and doesn't want to go anywhere so that he doesn't miss time he could play with Corey.  Well, back to my story..... As we were driving to the pool a neighbor beside us, Aubrey, was riding her bike and we stopped to talk to she and her mom.  We asked Preston if we should invite her to the pool and he quickly answered, "no", I am playing with Corey.  We felt bad because her mom was working outside and Aubrey was playing by herself so we invited her to the pool with us!  While she is getting ready, Preston quickly says, well she isn't going to have anyone to play with because I am playing with Corey....I guess she can play with you and Ethan.  Needless to say Aubrey played with Tim, Ethan, and I while Preston played with Corey.  It all worked out.  Preston has several friends in our neighborhood that are girls, but given the choice, he always chooses the boys!  There will come a time when this all changes, but I guess for now we should enjoy our "Don't take the girl" boy! : )
